Fraser River Sturgeon Report
May 27th, 2011Only one word can describe the condition of the Fraser River lately......WOW! The river is high and raging in full force with tons of debris floating everywhere so we really had to choose our spots to fish carefully to get out of the main flow. Sturgeon fishing has been a little challenging the last week, but we are still managing a few sturgeon every trip. Another couple of weeks and the water levels should start to drop and the fishing will be hot again. Eels have been the bait of choice recently, with the odd fish being caught on ulachons.

May 11th, 2011I thought I’d post something a little different today, as quite often while I’m on the river guiding, I get totally focused on fishing and take my surroundings for granted. So today I would like to share a few photos of what I see on a normal day of fishing the Fraser River, hope you enjoy them.

May 1 - 5, 2011 Fraser River Sturgeon Report
May 5th, 2011April showers brings May Sturgeon, isn’t that how it goes? The last week of April seemed to have been a little sluggish on the sturgeon rods with some days hooking and boating over a dozen sturgeon while other days we struggled to get 4 fish onboard, but May seems to be starting off with a BANG! The river is full of eulachons and the sturgeon are keying in on these tasty baitfish. So far every day has proven to be fantastic with 10-20 fish per day to the boat, I had a report from one of my friends saying he boated 27 sturgeon in 8 hours, now that’s what I call great fishing! Most of the fish are on the smaller size in the 3-4 foot range, almost all are carbon copies of each other and are very feisty. Give us a call today to arrange a great day of sturgeon fishing.
