England Vs. Ireland Sturgeon Challenge 2011
August 21st, 2011England vs. Ireland, Sturgeon Fishing August 20, 2011
I met the group at the boat launch at 8:00am sharp and stowed the gear for a sunny day of sturgeon fishing on the Fraser River. The group consisted of 2 Irishmen and 2 Englishmen (and one Canadian, to be the referee) It didn’t take long before the comments of the Irish vs. English rivalry started, so the challenge was on, all rods on the left side of the boat were officially Irish and the rods on the right were English. In total 13 sturgeon were caught and 9 were boated, I declared the game a tie and no penalties were given. All the guys had a great day of fishing and the bait of choice today was stink bait and sockeye heads.
Salmon fishing is in full swing right now with tons of Sockeye and Chinook in the river and the Pink Salmon are starting to show up as well. Prime dates are booking fast so give us a call to book your fishing trip today.

Grant for a little sturgeon fishing and to test out the new Okuma Solterra II 2 speed sturgeon reels, and what can I say.......they didn't disappoint. The French Connection, Sturgeon Report Aug. 6, 2011
August 6th, 2011The French Connection hit it big in British Columbia, our guests from Paris France hit some nice sturgeon today on the Fraser River accompanied by a local relative from Campbell River. We hooked 7 sturgeon and boated 4 with the largest being just under six feet long, not bad for only 4 hours on the water. The Fraser River is dropping steadily and coming into shape and sturgeon fishing is great right now, the best bait being sockeye salmon and eels.
