October Fly Of The Month, The Purple People Eater.
October 28th, 2009This months fly is what I call "The Purple People Eater" This fly is deadly for catching Chum Salmon on the Harrison River. I fish it under a type 3 sink tip and the Chum Salmon seem to key in on the purple marabou and the takes are quite agressive. Tie up a few and give them a try and you'll see what I'm talking about, Chums love them!

Fishing Report Oct. 19, 2009
October 19th, 2009With all the well needed rain recently we have seen a huge push of Chum Salmon entering into the Harrison river system and the run should peak over the next week or so. Purple and cherise jigs are working great, as well as orange and black marabou flies. The confluence of the Harrison and Fraser rivers is a good bet but can get busy on the weekends. Remember the daily limit is 2 Chum Salmon per angler.
Cheers & Tight Lines,
Randy Beck

Chum Chum Chum and more Chum Salmon
October 5th, 2009October marks the return of the Chum salmon to the Fraser and Harrison Rivers and this year promises to be spectacular with plenty of fresh fish already in the system. Fly anglers will have a great time fishing for Chum Salmon as they are very receptive to purple/cherise marabou flies being the most popular as well as blue/chartruse marabou flies as this one.

Chum Salmon will test any fly fishers with their powerful runs and strength. Come and check out Chum Salmon fishing on the Harrison River, and see what BC salmon fishing is all about.
